Main research interests

My research aims to characterize cerebral plasticity underlying learning and memory functions in the healthy brain and in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. In particular, i want to understand the role played by adult-generated hippocampal neurons in memory formation. We recently started investigating how endogenous neural stem cells from the diseased adult brain may be manipulated to become fully functional neurons able to drive cognitive rehabilitation.
