I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre de Biologie Intégrative (CBI) in Toulouse, working in the Bensimon-Brito lab. My research focuses on zebrafish models of cardiovascular calcification, where I study the earliest cellular events that initiate pathological mineralization in the outflow tract. I combine live imaging, genetic approaches, and transcriptomic tools to understand how different cell populations contribute to disease development.
I completed my PhD in Biomedicine and Integrative Biology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where I investigated tumor–immune interactions using zebrafish xenografts. I have a strong background in cancer biology, immunology, and in vivo imaging, and I have led multiple collaborative projects across Europe and Latin America. I am also committed to science communication and to strengthening international research networks.
I am passionate about teaching and previously worked as a professor in the medical faculty in my home country, an experience that continues to shape how I approach mentorship and scientific training.
