The 14th issue of Petit Illustré, co-published by CNRS Occitanie Ouest and La Dépêche du Midi, is dedicated to climate change. This Petit Illustré brings together contributions from more than 50 scientists from Toulouse, including Mathieu Lihoreau (CRCA-CBI). The book explores the many facets of climate research through time, while highlighting contemporary issues.

The CNRS Occitanie Ouest has chosen to bring together in the Petit Illustré Climat the extensive scientific expertise of some 20 Toulouse laboratories to create a reference work on this topic, which is so present in our daily lives.

Through the diversity of their research, these laboratories are advancing our understanding of the climate situation and its future. In this issue, you will learn how the climate has changed over time, the current challenges we face, and possible prospects for the future. There is also a special focus on our region, Occitanie, highlighting research areas close to home and local climate initiatives.

This book uses accessible language and is based on current research to help readers understand how all sciences provide essential data for a better understanding of climate issues as a whole.
