I've always been interested in understanding the regulation of gene expression. I first studied the complex regulating the general transcription factor PTEFb. I then studied the coupling between mRNA processing (splicing and polyadenylation) and RNA polymerase II transcription. Finally, I studied the role of diverse non-coding RNAs (circular RNAs and read-through RNAs) in the control of cellular senescence.
My areas of expertise are RNA biology and transcription by RNA polymerase II.
I now focus on the study of the role and regulation of transcription speed by RNA polymerase II in tumor progression through genome-wide approaches such as RNAseq, TTchem-seq, DRB-TTchem-seq, genome scale CRISPR screens,…
