I hold a degree in Biology from the University of La Laguna (2016), a Master's in Research and Advances in Microbiology from the University of Granada (2017), and a Diploma in Bioinformatics Analysis from Pablo de Olavide University (2021). In May 2023, I completed my PhD in Molecular Biology, Biomedicine, and Clinical Research at the University of Seville, earning the highest distinction, Sobresaliente Cum Laude, with international mention.

My research has focused on developing strategies to enhance the bactericidal activity of antimicrobials by suppressing bacterial stress response systems. Additionally, I have contributed to projects investigating the prevalence and underlying mechanisms of phenomena such as heteroresistance and persistence, the heterogeneity of gene expression related to bacterial stress responses in clinical isolates, and the antimicrobial activity of cannabinoids and/or other molecules against Gram-negative bacteria.

I have collaborated with both national and international research groups, including a three-month research stay at the National Center for Biotechnology in Madrid and another three-month stay at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for Biosustainability in Denmark.

Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Microbial Evolution and Ecology group. My work focuses on studying bacterial virulence factors that play a key role in bacterial evolution and the acquisition of antimicrobial resistance.
