CBI 1point5

The CBI1point5 group was established in 2019 following a publication by the Collectif Labos1.5, which questioned the environmental impact of research. It now consists of about thirty inidviduals who are interested in these issues at CBI.

A smaller group of 9 Sustainable Development Correspondents (CoDD) oversees its management. They propose initiatives aimed at fostering environmentally respectful research while upholding scientific excellence.

Supported by CBI management, the Collectif CBI1.5 engages in awareness campaigns, responds to project calls and more.

They have implemented recycling initiatives and calculated the annual carbon footprint for the 4 components of the CBI Federation. The CoDDs have also organized dedicated Sustainable Development weeks at CBI, featuring a variety of activities such as Climate fresk, 2Tons workshops, movie screenings, conferences, etc.

Additionally, the group maintains direct contact with the CNRS Regional Delegation through a network of Sustainable Development referents led by Carole Mainguy.
