I lead the 'Mycoplasma Metalloproteome' (MycoMet) team, which seeks to unravel the strategies of metal acquisition and utilization in mycoplasmas using an integrative and multidisciplinary approach combining biochemistry, structural biology, microbiology, molecular biology and bioinformatics. Our aim is to elucidate new biochemical mechanisms and answer fundamental questions about metal homeostasis and the chemistry of metalloenzymes essential for minimal pathogenic organisms.
