I'm working on mycoplasma metalloproteins, which to date are very poorly understood. My project aims to identify, using metalloproteomic approaches, all the metalloproteins of the Mycoplasma gallisepticum species, which represents a relevant model of minimal pathogenic bacteria. Various mass spectrometry approaches are being used, combined with bioinformatics analyses (phylogenomics and modeling) to describe the complete metalloproteome of this bacterium. This inventory will lead to the identification of metalloproteins of interest, which will be the focus of structural and functional studies aimed at better understanding the role of metals in these minimal pathogenic bacteria.
