I am a PhD candidate at the LMGM unit of Université de Toulouse. I completed my BSc in Biology at Yachay Tech University in Ecuador, where I developed an interest in antimicrobial resistance. My undergraduate thesis focused on determining the association between integrons and antimicrobial resistance genes in Salmonella enterica isolates from the Andean region, utilizing bioinformatics tools. I then pursued a Master’s degree in Fundamental Microbiology at Université Paris-Saclay, where I investigated host–microbiota–parasite interactions in insect vectors. This project deepened my interest in microbial genomics and dynamics. Currently, my PhD research focuses on the role of hypermucoviscosity in Klebsiella pneumoniae, specifically how this phenotype influences gene flow, bacterial adaptation, virulence, and evolution.
