Richard Bon (CRCA - Equipe CAB)BEHAVIOR séminaire publicTitre : Response to a stressfull stimulus and recovery: effect of group size
12:15
4R4-RDC | Salle Conférence (182 pers.)Stress response is often studied at the individual level. However, many animal species, including human beings, live and can be exposed to stressors while in groups. We investigate the effect of group size on the individual behavioural response and group response of sheep feeding in pasture. To that purpose, we trigger a familiar but unexpected and acute stressor, i.e. a truck horn. We show that sheep recover better with increasing group size, revealing a positive or protective social effect.
